Meet the Judges for Taiwan Preliminary

PIANO

Helen Hsu

Hsu Hui-Chun is a pianist, composer, and sound designer whose work spans classical, new age, jazz, and world music. Her music blends classical elegance, jazz spontaneity, and global influences with a pure, warm, and gentle style, earning her the title “Taiwan’s Most Popular Healing Pianist.” A skilled improviser and respected professional judge, Hsu is also proficient in piano and clarinet, with strong expertise in composition, arrangement, and production. Her fearless experimentation and wide-ranging interests have led to rich performance and cross-disciplinary collaboration experience. Deeply dedicated to music education, particularly early childhood, she serves as a lecturer and contributes to children’s theater, audiobook production, and educational material development. Guided by a belief in mind-body-spirit wellness, Hsu continually creates healing music for both adults and children, sharing tenderness, warmth, and purity through every musical journey.

PIANO 

Chiang Ju-Yun

Chiang Ju-Yun, born in 1983 in Kaohsiung City, holds a Master’s degree from the Graduate Institute of Music at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, where she studied under Professor Hsin Hsing-chun. She completed her undergraduate integrated music program at Tainan National University of the Arts, studying with Professors Shih Wen-ling, Tsai Chia-hui, Lee Wei-lung, and Ho Wan-chen. During her studies, she received university scholarships and the Donghe Musical Instruments Outstanding Student Scholarship, achieved notable competition results, and participated in masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians including Peter Feuchtwanger, Boris Lovov, Victor Rosenbaum, and Gilbert Kalish. Her performance experience includes four public solo recitals, diverse chamber music performances, and harpsichord concerts. She currently teaches in the music programs at Hsinchu Municipal Hsinchu Elementary School and Jianhua Junior High School, and serves as director of Elegance in Motion private skills training institutes in Hsinchu City and Hsinchu County.

PIANO & VIOLIN

Wang Ying Chien

She has previously taught at the String Orchestra Division of Xinglong Elementary School, Taipei City, and served as an adjunct accompanist for the Department of Dance at the University of Taipei. With extensive performance experience and effective teaching methods, she is currently a specialist instructor at Juilliard Arts Center and Elegance in Motion.
