Philippines Preliminary Round

Dr. Peter Porticos is a Filipino pianist, educator, and chamber musician. He completed his Diplominstrumentalist (Master of Music equivalent) in Piano Performance under Prof. Walter Olbertz at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin and attended masterclasses in German Lieder at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg. He has performed in Germany, France, Slovenia, and the Philippines, appearing as soloist with the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra and the U.S.T. Symphony Orchestra under distinguished conductors. In the Philippines, he has performed at major venues including the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Philamlife Theater, and Paco Park Presents. Porticos also holds degrees in Mathematics and Piano Performance (magna cum laude) and completed his PhD in Piano Performance at the Philippine Women’s University. He currently serves as a faculty member at the U.S.T. Conservatory of Music.

​Dr. Jonathan David Livioco is a distinguished violinist, violist, educator, and active orchestral performer from the Philippines. He studied with renowned string pedagogues from both the Philippines and the United States, including Solomiya Ivakhiv, Timothy Deighton, Elisabeth Chang, Joseph Esmilla, and Arturo Molina. He graduated from the University of the Philippines and earned Master’s degrees from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Pennsylvania State University, before completing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Violin and Viola Performance at the University of Connecticut. Jonathan has served as concertmaster of several leading orchestras in the Philippines, including the Filharmonika Orchestra, Manila Philharmonic Orchestra, and ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra, and has also appeared as a featured soloist with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to performing, he is a dedicated pedagogue and currently serves as Chairman of the Strings Category for the National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) in the Philippines.

Corinna Lapeña Llorin is a Filipino classical pianist, violinist, and educator with an extensive background in both solo and ensemble performance. A former full scholar of Stella Goldenberg Brimo, she won several nationwide competitions before receiving a full alumni scholarship to the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music, where she graduated as University Valedictorian and Summa Cum Laude under Leonor Kilayco. As a pianist and assisting artist, she collaborated with leading figures in Philippine music theatre, opera, and Broadway productions, including works by Mozart, Donizetti, Tchaikovsky, and Verdi. Alongside her piano career, Corinna has maintained a lifelong passion for violin performance, beginning as the youngest member of the Philippine Youth Orchestra at age ten. She has since performed with various professional orchestras locally and internationally. Today, she also serves as Part-Time Faculty at the De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde School of Arts, Culture and Performance.
