Susanna Saw is an active music educator dedicated to promoting music and choral education in Malaysia. She holds a Master’s degree in Music Education (Choral Focus) from Westminster Choir College, U.S.A. She currently serves as a choir director at the Faculty of Music, University of Malaya (UM), Akademi Seni Budaya dan Warisan Kebangsaan (ASWARA), and as an Adjunct Professor at Taylor’s University.

In 2007, Susanna established the Young Choral Academy in Kuala Lumpur, a centre for choral enthusiasts to explore vocal and choral education. She played a key role in introducing the Kodály Teachers’ Training Course to the Southeast Asian region, aiming to raise the standards of classroom music teaching. Over the years, she has organised numerous events to promote music and choral education. During the pandemic, Susanna initiated monthly Kodály Online Hangouts, uniting music educators worldwide to learn, sing, and stay connected. These sessions are now held in a hybrid format, continuing to engage active music educators globally.

Susanna is also the Founder and Director of the Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod (MCE), which has organised various symposiums and both national and international choir festivals since 2002. Since 2007, she has been regularly invited by INTERKULTUR, Germany, to serve as a jury member for the Asia Pacific and World Choir Games. She is a member of the Working Committee for the Asia-Pacific Choral Council under the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM), as well as the Asian Choral Association (ACA). An active speaker at music education events, Susanna is a strong advocate for effective music teaching in the 21st century. She currently holds the position of Vice-President in the International Kodály Society, the World Youth and Children Choral Artists’ Association, and the Malaysian Association for Music Education. She also serves on the Advisory Board of INTERKULTUR and CHORALSPACE, Germany.
