Service Description
Flutist Kim Seongsik, known for his rich sensibility and profound interpretations, showed exceptional talent from a young age. He completed the Gifted School program and graduated from Incheon Arts High School before entering Inje University’s Department of Music as the top student. Under the guidance of Professor Oh Shin-jung, he earned both his master’s and doctoral degrees with outstanding achievements. Balancing academic excellence with performance, he gained early experience with the Busan Youth Orchestra, where his stable yet expressive playing earned widespread recognition. He further honed his artistry by participating in major international events, including the National Flute Association (NFA) conventions in the U.S. (2012, 2016, 2018), the Japan Flute Festival (2017), and the Australia Flute Festival (2018). He has attended masterclasses with world-renowned flutists such as Paul Edmund-Davies, Ransom Wilson, Jim Walker, and Bradley Garner. In 2016, he received high praise for his performance at the 19.5 Club Concert in Osaka, Japan, and in 2021, he captivated audiences at the Youth Music Concert. An active performer, Kim has been a guest member of the Changwon, Busan, and Seongnam Philharmonic Orchestras. He is a board member of the Korean Flute Association and a Young Artist with the New York Classical Music Society (NYCMS), performing internationally. He also serves as the principal flutist of the Arte Orchestra and is a member of The New Ensemble, an art group designated by Busan. Dedicated to education, he is a faculty member at Inje University and Busan Arts High School, mentoring the next generation of musicians.
