Georgian-American pianist and composer Giorgi Latso has been acclaimed as “a magician of impeccable technique” by the Austrian press. Los Angeles Times praises his “internal wealth and ‘aristocratic’ spirit,” while Die Zeit highlights his “transcendental technique and depth of musical thinking.”
Dr. Latso has performed at leading international venues including London’s Wigmore Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles), Vienna Konzerthaus, Kaufman Concert Hall (New York), National Concert Hall (Taipei), Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Berliner Philharmonie, and other major stages worldwide. He is a regular guest on global radio and television platforms such as BBC Radio 3, K-USC, Rai Radio Classica, WETA Classical, and others. He has also been the subject of the internationally broadcast documentary “On the Steps of Mozart – On the Steps of Genius,” chronicling his artistic journey.
He is a laureate of the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition and a recipient of the Spivakov International Charity Foundation Award. His honors include the Supersonic Award, Best Music Award (Bologna Film Festival), and major foundation awards recognizing both his performance and composition. His recordings of Chopin’s 24 Preludes, Liszt’s 12 Transcendental Études, and the Waghalter Album have received international critical praise, with Rhinegold’s Classical Music commending his “extraordinary imagination and a musical tone rarely heard.”
From 2013 to 2020, Dr. Latso served as Professor of Piano at the Prayner Conservatory of Music and Dramatic Arts in Vienna. In 2013, he co-founded The Latsos Piano Duo with his wife, Anna Fedorova-Latso, with whom he continues to perform piano four-hands recitals and dual-piano concertos across Europe, Russia, North America, and Asia. He also maintains an active presence as an international competition juror, masterclass clinician, guest lecturer, and advocate for American piano repertoire.
Dr. Latso is the Founder and CEO of the Amadeus International Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to identifying and nurturing gifted young pianists. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California, and continues to balance a global career in performance, adjudication, and music education.
